Safety & Environment

At Carroll Branded Fuels, we place the utmost importance on safety and environmental compliance. Here are some of the ways in which we demonstrate our committment:

Environmental Compliance

  • Dedicated Environmental Compliance Team

Taking a proactive approach toward compliance, our dedicated team is solely responsible for ensuring the environmental compliance of our lease stations. They carefully monitor each one's compliance status and act quickly to stop delivery if a site is suspected of being environmentally unsound. Our environmental compliance team also uses the latest tracking technology to keep track of important environmental testing dates and schedule new tests before they are due.

  • Electronic Environmental Tracking System

Our state-of-the-art tracking system enables us to keep scanned electronic results of every environmental test that we have performed at our lease stations. The results are readily available to be viewed on demand, and our Environmental Compliance Team can view a station's compliance status with the click of a mouse. Members of the compliance team are notified in advance of each environmental test's expiration date so that they can schedule a new testing date with our third-party vendors.

  • Third Party Environmental Data Monitoring

In addition to our in-house team of environmental specialists, we also contract with a third party to independently review our environmental data. They notify us of potential problems immediately so that we can address them as they arise.

  • Dealer Environmental Data Entry

Each of our dealers accesses our web portal daily for pricing, accounting, and environmental data entry. Here, our lease station dealers can enter the results of the environmental tests they perform each day and each month at their stations. Historical data is saved and reports are readily available for dealers to print and keep on-site at their stations in case they need to produce it quickly for federal or state environmental auditors.

  • 24 x 7 Tank Monitoring

Our transportation group uses leading edge technology to continually monitor each site's storage tanks. They look for leaks in the tank, the line, or the sump and immediately halt delivery to questionable sites until they can be confirmed as environmentally sound.

  • Regular Third Party Environmental Testing

We use several third-party testing companies to perform the dozens of tests required by the state. Our Environmental Compliance Team receives electronic reminders of testing due dates and schedules the tests accordingly. They keep detailed records of each test in our Electronic Environmental Tracking System.

Safety

  • Knowledgeable, Certified Staff

All of our team members continue to stay up-to-date on the latest industry information. Many of them hold prestigious industry certifications including: Maryland Certified Third Party Inspector, Maryland Certified Tank Installer, Veeder Root Certification, BP Dealer School Graduate, and Stage 2 Vapor Recovery Certification.

  • Continuous In-Service Trainers for our Drivers

Just recently, all of our transport drivers participated in an interactive safety training session facilitated by Sunoco University. The drivers broke into groups where they studied photos from actual fuel delivery scenarios. Together they discussed and recorded the causes and effects of the incidents. Later, a Sunoco University trainer led an in-depth group discussion of each scenario. On-going in-service training such as this helps us to maintain an exemplary safety record, and it equips our drivers with the tools they need to feel confident and safe behind the wheel.

  • Regular Maintenance of Delivery Equipment

We maintain a strict maintenance and replacement policy on all of our delivery equipment. Our tanker trucks are maintained every 5,000 miles, and they are replaced every 5 years. This way, we can ensure that our drivers are using the safest, best maintained equipment on the roads.
