Safety & Environment

Carroll Branded Fuels takes environmental safety seriously, and places the utmost importance on safety and environmental compliance. We demonstrate our commitment with:

Dedicated environmental compliance team

Taking a proactive approach toward compliance, our dedicated environmental compliance team is solely responsible for ensuring the environmental compliance of our lease stations. Through carefully monitoring, the team examines every site’s environmental compliance and acts quickly to stop delivery if a site is suspected of being environmentally unsound. The latest tracking technology is used to monitor important environmental testing dates and schedule new tests before they are due.

Electronic environmental tracking system

Our state-of-the-art tracking system enables us to keep scanned electronic results of every environmental test we perform at our lease stations. The results are readily available via our on-demand system with the click of a mouse. Members of our environmental compliance team are notified in advance of each environmental test’s expiration date so they can schedule a new testing date with our third-party vendors.

Third-party environmental data monitoring

In addition to our in-house team of environmental specialists, Carroll Branded Fuels also contracts with a third party to independently review our environmental data. This third party notifies us of any potential problems immediately so we can address them as soon as they arise.

Dealer environmental data entry

Every Carroll Branded Fuels dealer has easy access to our web portal for daily pricing, accounting and environmental data entry. Here, our lease station dealers can enter the results of the environmental tests they perform each day at their stations. Historical data is saved and reports are readily available for dealers to print and keep on-site at their stations in the event that they need to produce it quickly for federal or state environmental auditors.

24/7 Tank monitoring

Carroll Transportation technicians use cutting-edge technology to continually monitor each site’s storage tanks. They look for tank, line and sump leaks, and immediately halt delivery to questionable sites until they can be confirmed as environmentally sound.

Regular third-party environmental testing

We use several third-party testing companies to perform dozens of tests required by the state to ensure environment safety. Our environmental compliance team receives electronic reminders of testing due dates and schedules the tests accordingly, and keep detailed records of each test in our electronic environmental tracking system.

Knowledgeable, certified staff

All of our team members stay up to date on the latest industry news and technology, and many hold prestigious industry certifications (Maryland Certified Third Party Inspector, Maryland Certified Tank Installer, Veeder Root Certification, BP Dealer School Graduate and Stage-Two Vapor Recovery Certification).

Continuous in-service driver training & education

Carroll Transportation drivers are educated on the newest government safety regulations year-round. Ongoing in-service training—such as a recent interactive safety training session facilitated by Sunoco University—helps us maintain an exemplary safety record, and equips our drivers with the tools they need to feel confident and safe behind the wheel.

Regular delivery equipment maintenance

We maintain a strict maintenance and replacement policy on all of our delivery equipment. Our tanker trucks are maintained every 5,000 miles, and are replaced every five years in order to ensure that our drivers are using the safest, best-maintained fuel carrier equipment on the roads.
